Call for Proposals for the SHC session at RSA 2023

As an Associate Organization of the Renaissance Society of America, the Society for the History
of Collecting hosts up to four sponsored sessions at the annual RSA conference. In 2023, the
conference will be held March 9–11 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We invite 150–200-word panel
proposals around themes of collecting during the 15 th –17 th centuries. Areas of particular interest
include portrait collections of illustrious women and men, the role of women and women
patronage in early modern collections, and how collections shaped perceptions of the early
modern world.

Please send your session proposal and CVs to americas@societyhistorycollecting.org and
Sophia Quach McCabe (sqmccabe@gmail.com) with the subject line “SHC RSA 2023 San Juan
proposal” by August 1, 2022. Visit RSA for submission guidelines.
