Join Susanna Avery Quash (National Gallery, London), Inge Reist (Frick Collection New,  York) and Imogen Tedbury (National Gallery, London) to explore themes and ideas covered  in Old Masters Worldwide published as part of Bloomsbury Academic’s Contextualizing Art  Markets series.  

Essays in this book explore the global movement of Old Master paintings and investigate key changes in the art market that took place as a result of this new interest. Examining the rise  of increasingly professional dealerships including Colnaghi and Agnew’s in Britain, Goupil in France, and Knoedler in the USA, Old Masters Worldwide explores the ways in which the  pioneering practices of such businesses contributed to a changing market.
