The Austrian Chapter brings together scholars, museum professionals, collectors and aficionados with an interest in the history of collecting across all periods. Based in Austria but internationally minded, we are committed to fostering cross-disciplinary exchange and to building connections between academia, the museum world, and the art market. A central priority is the formation of a strong early-career network. Our program centers on direct engagement with collections themselves: we organize several site visits per year to exhibitions, private collections, and museums, alongside presentations and conversations on collecting history in all its forms.
